This morning, I was going into my office building, with both of my hands full. The man who was in front of me held the door open for me. I thought that was nice of him since everyone is rushing to get to work on time and wrapped up in their own lives. That does not happen very often. Then I got a better look at this guy and I saw that he only had one arm, and he was holding a bottle of water. I should have been the one holding the door open for him.
Some people with obstacles in their lives are bitter and feel sorry for themselves. I don't know this man, but I do not think that is the case with him. He strikes me as being independent, but most of all, I believe he has a compassionate side to him. It reminded me that no matter what we are going through ourselves, it is always nice to do a good deed and help someone else out.
I did happen to see that guy another time after that when we were both leaving work. Again, he was carrying a bottle of water. So the two times that I saw him he was carrying a bottle of water. This guy must be health conscious and he must take care of himself. A part of me felt proud of him. If I see him again, I hope that I get the chance to talk to him.
I encourage everyone to do something nice for someone. What you do may seem like a small act to you, but it could make a big impact on someone's life.
