Mark Pantak, winner of my November Wellness Coaching contest, was selected to win a free Wellness Coaching session with me. The contest was to write in 50 words or less why you should be chosen to win this contest.
As the winner, Mark won a free 45 minute coaching session with me, and an interview with me featured in this article.
Mark's entry was:
"I am a coach, I believe in coaching, I believe in wellness, I believe in wellness coaching. I am coachable, and I will implement and benefit from the wellness coaching session. I'm health conscious, over 50, and very concerned with maintaining good health. I feel that you will help me."
I chose Mark because I saw an admirable characteristic in him which is humbleness. Even though Mark is a coach himself, and helps people with his expertise, he is willing and open to receiving coaching for himself, and knows that he can benefit from it. Although health conscience himself, Mark sees the value in allowing Wellness Coaching to take him to the next level. He knows that even a coach can benefit by having a coach.
Mark's profile and interview:
Age: 52
Marital status: Single, never married.
Occupation: Spiritual/Holistic Business Owner/ Real Estate Investor/ Speaker/ Business/Sales/Investing Coach and Mentor/ Adventure Traveler/ All Around Eclectic Character.
How did you get interested in this occupation? I have always been very Spiritual/ Intuitive, and found that when I slowed down, and "listened to Spirit" it helped make better decisions, and have success much more quickly and easily, with much less effort in Business/Sales and Investing. As others saw my success, they asked if I could help them do the same, and this evolved into a coaching and mentoring business, with all kinds of clients in many places, since I love to travel and can do most of my work over the phone and live anywhere I choose.Favorite Food: Tough one, I do love Seafood, often in combination with something like Chinese or Italian.Favorite TV show: I do not watch TV, I have never even owned a TV.
I would rather spend my time learning at a meeting, or reading, or walking in nature.
Favorite color: Midnight Blue, the kind of deep, rich color of water/ sky, or someone's eyes where you could just get lost in them.
Place of birth: Michigan, it was always too cold for me.
What makes you happy: Learning, Travel, Adventure, meeting and learning from interesting people.
Beauty, simple things, any of God's miracles and creations, for example: in nature, sunrise, sunset, water, the ocean, rivers, waterfalls, Hot Springs, watching children laughing and playing and having fun. Being with someone, where it is safe to just be myself, and be silly and have fun and laugh, like a child.
Making a difference in people's lives, seeing them grow and change and have miracles as a result of my influence as a friend or as a coach/mentor/speaker. Just being able to hangout and relax in a hot tub in New Mexico, looking over the river and mountains, the peacefulness.
What makes you sad: Spending most of my time and my life without a partner to share my adventures and experiences with. Having people sometimes be mean, or thoughtless, or even do things to hurt me and others.
What are you most grateful for in your life: My relationship with God, which provides my Health and Business and Freedom to travel and just live a simple life of adventure. God has blessed me in many ways.
What is important to you about friendships: Being able to spend time talking and listening and sharing and helping each other.
What are your best qualities: I am very creative, intuitive, loyal, a good friend, and listener. I am very passionate, and love to learn and grow. I am very good with money and investing and helping others to learn and benefit to be financially free as well. I love helping people.
What are you best accomplishments: Having gone in my career from a shy, introverted security guard, to Vice President of a Financial Services Company, to a top sales person, to a successful Business Owner/Investor, and now being able to help others learn and benefit from my success and experience.
Do you have any success stories regarding your clients that you want to mention: Yes, I have many, and will just share a few.
About 5 years ago, I was teaching through the local real estate investors association in Dallas, and had a 14 year old in my class. He was very bright, and went to a special school, and all around, I felt he was remarkable.
The one thing he was, is coachable! I have advised many adults what to do, and most of them never do it! This young man followed the simple steps and found an excellent real estate deal from a VERY motivated seller.
The next few steps he took are what make the real difference!
Most adults, if they were to find a good deal, would simply say to themselves, "I don't have the money to do this deal."
Guess what, neither did the 14 year old, or his father. Here is the difference, the 14 year old brought the deal to the class I was teaching and asked, "What do I do next?"
(Most adult males will not stop and ask directions when they are lost.)
I was excited, and said, "Well, what we do next is evaluate the facts, to make sure that it is a deal, then we see if anyone here might be interested in buying it."
It was a deal, there was a man in class with cash who was interested in buying it, and the 14 year old was going to get a finders fee.
This is where it gets good! I told him, and everyone in class, that the most important thing was not the money, it was the benefit of learning you received by "staying involved in the deal". The young man took my advice to heart, and asked the investor who bought it, how he could help and stay involved and learn and contribute.
He was able to help by keeping the yard mowed, and helping with painting the house, and a variety of other ways. The investor and 14 year old developed a relationship, which is what I teach is the most important thing in business/sales/investing.
People do business with you over time, because you have developed a relationship with them vs a one time transaction. This is why so many people are broke. They do not understand this principle. They focus on the transaction, and do business once, and have to start all over again tomorrow. Profit and wealth is in repeat business and referrals.
The final result of the story is that the investor sold the house for a $28,000 profit, and was so impressed with the 14 year old, and his attitude of service and contribution, that he decided to make him a 50/50 partner on the deal, so he made $14,000 on his very first deal, at only 14 years old!
I then interviewed him on my radio show in Dallas and asked some important questions. What qualifies you to be a real estate investor? Do you have a job? "No, I am a student, going to school. I have not even graduated from school!"
Do you have credit? No
Do you have money? No
Do you have experience? No
He said, "I am a 14 year old, I don't even have a car or my drivers license!"
I said, "With all of our listeners out there, who have all of these excuses why they can not do this, and here you are only 14 years old, and just made $14,000 on your very first deal! What do you have that most of them don't have?"
He looked at me intently, and said, "Desire".
___________
I have a new client, Eric, who is a young black man in Beaumont, Texas. He has graduated from college, and has a job as a chemist. He wants to quit his job, and be a full time real estate investor, like me.
He had taken a training with one of the national real estate gurus which cost him thousands of dollars. After six months of their program, he did learn a few things, and felt the program was overpriced, and he did not learn enough to do a deal.
He learned about me through the www.Richclub.org which is the largest real estate investment association in the country, based in Houston, Texas. I have been a speaker there, as a volunteer, for several years. I have spoken all over the country, and on cruise ships, and had radio shows in Dallas and Houston. I have been helping business owners/ sales people/ and now investors for many years now. Eric is just one of many success stories.
Eric just closed on his 4th real estate deal. It is a house that he is keeping as a rental. He is in the process of rehabbing it, and getting it ready to rent. It is worth about $100,000. He bought it for $60,000, after his repairs he will have about a $25,000 equity and increase in net worth.
This house has an existing loan, which he took "subject to", so he does not have to get a new loan. The existing loan has 9 years remaining, which means that most of the payment on this loan will pay off the principle balance, and this house will be free and clear in just 9 years! The tenant will buy him this house, and pay off his loan!
Imagine doing this 10 times, + having 10 houses all paid for, in less than 10 years, and a million dollar net worth, starting with nothing!
Eric started with me a little over a year ago, and I taught him wholesaling. How to find deals, get them under contract for just $20, and then sell them to another buyer for cash, and pocket the difference.
The first deal he did, he bought for $10,000. It was worth about $100,000 fixed up, it had been damaged by hurricane Rita, and had been sitting there for more than 4 years. He sold it for $40,000, without making any repairs, sold "as is". After all costs, the net profit was almost $25,000 on this one deal.
His second one he got for $11,000 and sold for $19,500, netting him $8,500,
His third house he got for $1,000! It was damaged by both hurricane Rita and Ike, and has extensive damage. I bought it. Just the lot is worth about $10,000 or more!
This is just the beginning for Eric, I expect that by next summer, he may be in a position to quit his job and go full time. He has other deals in the pipeline, and he no longer has to worry if his company might close or lay him off. He has a new business, part time, which can replace his existing income!
I love what I do, helping people get free. Eric does the work, I have the expertise to get the deals done. It works out good for both of us.
I will also have many more success stories like Eric, please email me if you would like to be on my list for my Blog about this topic. Mentormarkpantak@gmail.com
I have helped many business owners, salespeople, and investors. Even 14 year old investors with no money, credit, job, or experience!
What do you like to do in your free time? I love to learn and travel and meet interesting people. As I write this, I just did a training in El Paso,Texas, and I have been soaking in hot springs in New Mexico. I would love to have clients all over the world, and I plan to do so through my own blog which I will be starting soon.
What advise would you give a teenager? Learn to focus on what you love and get very good at it! Be very careful who you associate with, and seek out mentors, who are older and have already done what you choose to do, and see if there is a way that you can "apprentice with them" even if you have to work for free at first, just to prove yourself. Persist in your dreams and never give up!
What about your life do you cherish? That my parents helped instill in me a desire to learn, grow and be my best at an early age.
What will you always remember about your family? We were always working, evenings, weekends, vacations, we built our own homes. My dad was an engineer, and dreamed of being a builder and could never make the leap, so he did the best he could, and built the homes we lived in. I learned a lot from this. I had a hard time taking vacations due to this. I am over it now. I take a vacation every month.
What about your life do you regret? Never having married and never having children and a family. I always wanted to, and still do. If anyone reading this knows someone for me to meet, anywhere in the world, I am single.
What goals and aspirations do you have? My first priority is: What is God's will for my life? and how can I fulfill it each day? I believe that God's will is to grow in our ability to love and accept him, so that we can more completely love and accept ourselves. If we do not love God and ourselves, how are we going to love our neighbor. I believe that if we followed his true teachings in every world religion, there would be no war. Do you kill or hurt someone you love? I do not care if you are a Christian or not, Jesus taught to love one another. I love every person, and this is my number one responsibility. To make a difference through love.
If we just focus on keeping life simple and being happy, and sharing love, most other things will work out. If we express love, we have less stress, and are happier and healthier. Money is important to me. I live in a material world. Being happy is very important. It is possible to have health and wealth and help and love others and have all of it working together.
What are your favorite memories growing up? Being out in nature, with God, I could just feel his love and presence and still do.
Are you health conscious? Very much so, my mother was an RN, founding member of the Holistic Nurses Association and massage therapist and healer. I have often been told that I look 10 or more years younger than my age. I often eat organic and vegetarian, though I do eat meat. I am very careful about processed food, and salt and sugar.
Do you like to go shopping? What I go shopping for is books and education. Other than that, I am very careful with my money, and I feel that most Americans waste a lot of money on stuff they they pay to store, or fill up their garage.
Do you like to travel and if so, to what cities? I LOVE history, culture, architecture, so San Francisco, it is my favorite US city, I have had some great times in Chicago as well. Austin, Texas is a very special place, people who have visited understand. It is just cool.
Canadian cities have been incredible for me, Vancover and Toronto. I have been all over the US, 48 states, most of Canada, and Mexico, and to Europe twice, Salzberg, Austria is cool (much to see in Europe) there are many places that I still want to go. South America, New Zealand, Asia, India, Africa and more.
More than cities, I like places, I LOVE Hawaii, Northern California, a little town in New Mexico where I am right now, Hot Springs!
If money were not an object, what would you like to do: If money could solve enough problems, I would spend it all on helping to change the world, and make it a better, safer, more sane place.
I would invest in education to eliminate poverty, starvation, disease, suffering, causes which effect women and children the most. Eliminate war, and crimes against the most helpless of our world. There is so much work to do.
Who would the guests be at your fantasy dinner party? I am a Christian, and so my first choice would be Jesus Christ. I have a lot of questions for him, such as if the Bible turned out as he intended? I am no Bible scholar, and I feel that there has been a lot of confusion about his teachings, and the world today with all of the issues I have mentioned.
I am also very interested in world religions, so the founders of most religions: Budda, Krisna, Mohammed, Confucious, I believe they all teach the same and their core: LOVE one another, it would be great if everyone would do this.
Who do you admire most? My mother, she had a hard life, and she has been through a lot, and she has made the best of things and made sacrifices to raise her children as best as she can. I am grateful to her for what I have learned from her, and the influence that she has been on me.
If someone would like to get in touch with you for your services, how would they do that? My first best choice is to just email me. I offer a FREE initial consultation by appointment. I also have other FREE offers, including a FREE E-book I am writing, "Creating the Life you Choose, Using the Secrets of the Universe". Just email me, and I will put you on my list to receive when it is done.
I do not care where you live in the world. I can help you. If you will examine and change what you believe, you will change your life. You can create any life you choose. I have done so, and I can show anyone how to do the same. It is a step by step process which works for anyone.
My closing comments: I have gone from poverty to prosperity using univeral principles God has given to everyone of us, (I started out with no money, working for minimum wage of $3.25 an hour as a security guard. I have lost everything and I have been homeless, living out of my truck).
It does not matter who you are, (young or old, male or female, race or religion) It does not matter where you are, anywhere in the world. If you will contact me, and you have a sincere desire, I would love to come meet you anywhere in the world. Or maybe you can come and meet me? Maybe we can help each other? I will show you how to do it. Anything is possible if you have the desire.
I now have investments which allow me to travel. I pray about everything I do. I feel that my winning this contest to have my story told in this blog is no accident. I believe that I will meet people as a result of this, and we will touch each others lives. Email me at mentormarkpantak@gmail.com. Please be sure to mention BLOG in the subject line.
